Proposed Motion: Reset of Town Council Leadership
Whereas the Lincoln Town Charter and the Town Council Rules and Procedures do not
establish a fixed term of service for the offices of Town Council Chair or Town Council
Vice Chair; and
Whereas the Town Council retains continuing authority to organize its internal
leadership in a manner that best serves effective governance and the public interest.
Now therefore, move that the Lincoln Town Council, pursuant to its authority under the
Town Charter and the Town Couneil Rules and Procedures, hereby declares its intent to
reset Council leadership in order to restore effective governance, reinforce proper
council-staff boundaries, and reaffirm the Council’s commitment to transparency,
accountability, and respectful public service.
Further move that the Council remove the current Chair and Vice Chair from their
leadership positions, effective immediately upon adoption of this motion.
Further move that the Council proceed to elect a new Chair and Vice Chair from among
its members at this meeting, in accordance with the Town Charter and Town Council
Rules and Procedures.
